Everton have been linked with Gambia striker Modou Barrow, while Nimes frontman Anthony Koura is also said to be a target.
Barrow plays for Swedish outfit Ostersunds FK and has had scouts from Bolton, Hull City, QPR and Everton all watching him in action in recent months.
Bolton have made at least one bid, in the region of £600,000 for the 21-year old, but it was turned down.
The striker would prefer a move to the Premier League and boss Roberto Martinez is considering making an offer as he attempts to improve his squad on a limited budget this summer.
Koura may also be a target after he impressed in Ligue 2 for Nimes last season. Fellow French side Metz are are also being linked with a swoop for the 21-year-old.
Meanwhile, Everton are close to confirming they have signed Ferencvaros midfielder Muhamed Besic in a deal worth around £4million.
The Bosnia international impressed at the World Cup and the Blues expect to be able to announce his arrival by early next week.
