Everton boss Roberto Martinez has revealed that he has money to spend when the transfer window opens in the new year.
Everton have cash in the bank after the deadline-day sales of Marouane Fellaini to Manchester United and Victor Anichebe to West Brom netted them around £33.5m which leaves around a £20m profit after their own summer purchases.
Whether Martinez gets that full amount to spend remains to be seen, but he believes he will be backed in the transfer market and is already looking out for additions that will strengthen his side.
"We're in the position where we've got a bit of money to try to improve the squad for the next window and we're going to do that from window to window," said the Spaniard.
"We have to because I'm sure next time the question will be 'who we are going to lose now', so improving the squad goes without saying.
"We have got a little bit of money and will always carry on trying to identify targets that can help the group. That will never stop and it will be the same in the window coming."
