Toby Alderweireld's father says his son is a target for Everton and claims the Ajax defender may be interested in a move to Merseyside.
The 24-year-old's future is one of the ongoing sagas of the summer after he expressed a desire to leave the Dutch champions, only to turn down moves to Bayer Leverkusen and Norwich City.
Alderweireld has also been linked with a move to Liverpool this summer, although the versatile defender is thought to prefer a move to a club in the Champions League.
Despite wanting to play European football, Alderweireld's father Vic has now revealed Everton could tempt his son to leave Amsterdam and claims the Toffees have been monitoring his progress.
Vic said: "We have heard from various sources that Everton are interested in Toby. Officially, there has not been any contact yet, but any English team of a certain stature would certainly be interesting for Toby.
"He has two possibilities at the moment. He could sign a new contract with Ajax, or he could move to a bigger team in a bigger league."
Alderweireld has 12 months left to run on his current contract and Ajax are thought to value him at around £5million.
