Everton are closing in on a deal to sign Standard Liege striker Michy Batshuayi, but may loan him back to Belgium until the summer.
The Toffees are ready to move after Batshauyi's agent, who also represents Kevin Mirallas, offered the 20-year-old Brussels-born forward to a number of Premier League clubs.
Arsenal are also said to be interested as Arsene Wenger bids to strengthen his strikeforce in January, but a switch to Goodison Park would suit the player and give him the chance to succeed Romelu Lukaku as the club's main striker.
However, the latest twist from Belgium is that Batshuayi could be instantly loaned back from Everton to Standard's huge rivals Anderlecht for the rest of the season.
Reports claim Everton would receive £1million in a loan fee from Anderlecht for the striker, offsetting the expected £7-8million fee that Roberto Martinez's side would have to pay for the highly-prized hitman.
Batshuayi has scored 14 goals in 18 Belgian Pro League starts and two in four starts for the Belgian Under-21 side this season.
