Everton are said to be closing in on a move for Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue who is valued at around the £10m mark.

The 24-year-old has been described as the 'new Marouane Fellaini' and, although boss David Moyes is very keen to keep the current Marouane Fellaini at the club, he has been linked with a host of possible replacements.

Capoue is a current international and has come through the ranks for his country playing at French youth level having earned caps at Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level.

French newspaper L'Equipe said last week that Fellaini would join Chelsea during this transfer window and it is now claimed elsewhere that Capoue is set to be his replacement and is due at Goodison Park for a medical this week.
