Fresh Mountinho bid mooted

Joao Moutinho's agent is reportedly working to persuade Everton to table an improved bid of 19 million euros to Sporting Lisbon.

Pini Zahavi is believed to be on Merseyside to broker a deal after the Portuguese international midfielder told him he wants to play in the Premiership.

Sporting rejected David Moyes' first bid of £11.8million (15m euros) this week and told the Goodison boss they want a minimum 20million euros which is £15.7million.

Everton's next move could be to table a £15million bid as Moyes looks to immediately re-invest the cash generated from the sale of Andy Johnson to Fulham.
