Chicago Fire goalkeeper Sean Johnson is relishing the chance to link-up with USA team-mate Tim Howard during a trial with Everton.

Toffees boss David Moyes is keen to recruit another senior goalkeeper to help keep his current number one Howard on his toes.

He appears to have turned his attentions to the Fire's Johnson, who has just completed his third full season with the MLS club.

The 23-year-old, who has two caps for the US national side, also spent a week on trial with the Merseysiders in December last year.

He is also set to spend a week with fellow Premier League outfit Stoke City before heading to the Toffees on December 10th.

Johnson admits he is looking forward to the chance to train and learn from Howard, especially after enjoying his first taste of international football over the past 12 months.

"Having been in with the national team a lot more this past year, training with Chris and Tim again here is a fantastic opportunity to keep some continuity and show how I'm growing," he told Chicago Fire's club website.

"To be in that environment day-in and day-out and make yourself a better goalkeeper will do wonders for me as a player."
