Midfielder injury boost for Moyes

EvertonEverton midfielder Tim Cahill is making such good progress from his foot injury that he could yet play in the season's opener.

The Australia international has been out of the side since picking up a metatarsal injury which required surgery back in May and he was not expected to make a comeback until September.

He is making good progress however and has now joined up with the rest of the squad on their American tour and there is the hope he could be ready for the clash with Blackburn on August 16.

Coach Steve Round told the Post: "He's running now and everything seems to be going on the right track, touch wood, so we're looking to have him fit and ready for the season."
