Everton may well rekindle their interest in Dutch international midfielder Leroy Fer after his original move collapsed due to injury.

The 23-year-old had been on his way from FC Twente during the January transfer window for £8m but the deal collapsed after he failed the medical due to a problem with his knee.

Everton are ready to move again, if they can structure the payments to FC Twente to guard against any long-term injury which was the problem last time out, and had him watched at the weekend.

The player himself is keen on the idea although he says he is not considering the prospect of a move at the moment.

He said: "It is still a fantastic club. But at the moment I am not thinking about it.

"Only one thing counts right now: ending the season at FC Twente in a good way."
