Jenas, who has been capped 20 times by England, joined Spurs from Newcastle in 2005 and has made almost 100 appearances for the north London club but has not been a first-team regular in the opening part of the season.
Sunderland manager Roy Keane is also reported to be keen on signing the 25-year-old and reuniting him with three of his former Spurs team-mates at the Stadium of Light.
Speculation suggests that Jenas could cost in excess of £10 million but he could be prepared to consider a move from White Hart Lane following Tottenham's dismal start to the season which sees them lying bottom of the Premier League table without a win.
