David Moyes may throw new signing John Stones straight into the side to face Aston Villa on Saturday after he joined on deadline day.

The highly-rated Barnsley defender was wanted by Wigan but it was David Moyes who landed him for £3million and he signed a five-and-a-half year deal at Goodison, and he may go straight into the side to face Villa on Saturday.

Moyes will have to check on the fitness of Kevin Mirallas, who returned to the side following a hamstring injury for the win over West Brom on Wednesday but was substituted late on and replaced by Darron Gibson.

Defender Seamus Coleman is expected to be out for at least another two weeks with a thigh injury and Tony Hibbert is also struggling with a calf problem.
