Norwich latest to move for Everton defender

Last Updated: Mon, 06 Jan 2014 09:44

Norwich are the latest club to be linked with a move for Everton defender Johnny Heitinga, who turned down a switch to West Ham.

The Toffees reached an agreement with the Hammers over Heitinga, but in a statement released by his agents last week the Holland international said he had not been convinced that transfer would be right for him and had therefore called it off.

The Dutch ace said he was confident, with the interest being shown in him, that he would be able to join another side before the end of the January transfer window.

Norwich are now one of those clubs said to be keen but Heitinga is in no rush as he looks to make the right move for his career, saying: "This might be the most important decision of my career, so everything has to be just right."
