Ross Barkley will be welcomed back to the club this week after his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday came to an end.

The 18-year-old has returned from an injury-hit spell at Hillsborough and there is a real chance he may get himself into the first team squad as David Moyes juggles his decreasing options.

Skipper Phil Neville is likely to be out for two months after a knee operation, Kevin Mirallas and Victor Anichebe are sidelined with hamstring injuries and defender Tony Hibbert's calf problem is keeping him out.

Barkley's stay with Wednesday came to an end after Saturday's defeat to Nottingham Forest and he leaves South Yorkshire with four goals to his name in 12 starts for Dave Jones' men.
