Young Spanish star plays down loan extension

Last Updated: Tue, 10 Dec 2013 13:27

Everton's on loan Barcelona star Gerard Deulofeu says he is not thinking about extending his stay at Goodison Park.

The 19-year-old has been on fire of late and boss Roberto Martinez hinted earlier in the week that they may look to keep him beyond the end of his loan spell next summer.

The young Spanish ace though says he is very happy at the club but is looking forward to a long career at Barcelona when his current deal is up and is not thinking about an extension.

Deulofeu told Spanish radio station RAC1: "I don't know. I am just thinking about this season and whatever happens will happen.

"I am very happy at Everton and want to get the most out of this year. I am here for one year, and after that I will be a Barcelona player."
