Exeter City were originally formed in 1890 as Exeter Town FC, changing their name in 1904. The Grecians have been based at their current St James Park home since 1904, and have been managed by three former England internationals – Alan Ball, Terry Cooper and Gerry Francis. City played their first match in the Football League in 1920, but Exeter were relegated to the Conference in 2003.
