Exeter midfielder Arron Davies believes playmaker Alan Gow has a bit of magic.

The former Blackpool attacker's wonderful curling free-kick helped City become only the second side to win at Gillingham this season - the latest in a string of impressive displays from the Scot who signed a two-year deal in May.

"He has got that bit of magic about him, it is obvious to see," City's Welsh international told Press Association Sport. "When you go one-on-one with him in training you dread it.

"You can see he is a good player and his close control is just brilliant. He gives you something different and when he's on form, doing his thing and moving his hips, he attracts two to three players to the ball.

"I don't know what he does sometimes he is that good. If you give him the ball he has the ability to do things and it's nice to have players like that in your squad."

After back-to-back away wins at Bradford and Gillingham, the Grecians welcome Rotherham to Devon on Saturday looking to close the six-point gap on second-placed Port Vale.
