Gill set for permanent switch

Bristol Rovers midfielder Matt Gill will be joining Exeter on a permanent basis in the new year.

The midfielder's contract is being cancelled by mutual consent, to allow him to pursue his career with the Grecians.

Gill has been on loan with Rovers' Sky Bet League Two rivals since October after falling out of favour at the Memorial Stadium.

The 33-year-old is in his second spell with the Devon club, having made 164 appearances for them between January 2006 and the summer of 2009.

He went on to play for Norwich before joining Rovers in 2011, where he played 50 games.
