Exeter boss Paul Tisdale believes Jake Gosling's role in Dorchester's FA Cup run can only help the winger's development.

Gosling, one of three players to have spent time on loan with the Magpies from Exeter this season, scored the only goal in the first round to knock City's rivals Plymouth out of the FA Cup, and is now hoping to feature again as they take on Luton.

"It is very good for Jake, I am delighted for him," Tisdale said. "It is about his development and the reason he went on loan to Dorchester was for his immediate progress.

"It is a good club for him to go to and Jake is one of the players we have aspirations for. To get the FA Cup run, to play in the last game and score the winning goal all adds to it.

"It has really maximised the benefit we expected to get from this loan. Hopefully he will play in the second round and we can only gain from that."

Gosling, who is yet to make a senior appearance for the Grecians, has been one of Dorchester's star performers since joining on a three-month loan deal, which is set to end after Saturday's cup clash.
