Jenson Button felt his car was at its best after winning the Turkish Grand Prix in Istanbul - his sixth win from the first seven races.

The Brawn driver now sits on 61 points at the top of the F1 standings, 26 points clear of second-place team-mate Rubens Barrichello, with Sebastian Vettel back in third.

The Red Bulls of Mark Webber and Vettel were second and third respectively, but it was Button who dominated the race from second on the grid, with another superb drive to put himself in with an excellent chance of taking his first driver's championship this season.

Lewis Hamilton finished down in 13th place in the Turkish capital, while Jarno Trulli finished fourth for Toyota and Nico Rosberg claimed fifth in his Williams.

Button felt that he was right at the top of his game on Sunday and paid tribute to his team, who have helped keep daylight between himself and the chasing F1 pack.

"Today the car was the best it's felt all year," he told the BBC. "It was immense and I have to say a massive thank you to the team. It just keeps getting better. The rubber on the circuit helped but it was a great day."
