Clint Dempsey has played down talk of leaving Fulham in the summer by confirming that he is happy at Craven Cottage.
The United States forward, who will turn 29 on Friday week, has scored 16 goals in all competitions for the Cottagers this season, while he transferred his impressive domestic form to the international stage on Wednesday when he scored the only goal of the game in his country's historic first victory against Italy in a friendly clash in Genoa.
Dempsey was heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain during last summer's transfer window, while he has made no secret about his desire to play Champions League football before he hangs up his boots.
However, while Dempsey would not rule anything out, he insisted that he is happy with Fulham and is likely to stay put until the end of his current contract in summer 2013.
He told SI.com: "After this season I have one more [contract year] with Fulham. All you can do is make the most of where you're at. That's what I've been doing.
"The grass isn't always greener. What if it's not Fulham that makes Champions League and you go to a different team and you're knocked out after one or two games? Is it really worth the move?
"It would have to be the right situation. Right now I'm happy at Fulham and trying to finish the season strong. We'll see what the future holds."
