Fulham and Southampton are reportedly set to battle it out for Millwall midfielder Liam Trotter in the January transfer window.
The highly-rated 24-year-old has enjoyed a successful start to the new campaign with six goals for the Lions, who sit in mid-table in the Championship following a seven-match unbeaten run.
And the Daily Mirror claims that Cottagers boss Martin Jol has sent scouts to watch Trotter in action for Kenny Jackett's side in recent matches, while Saints chief Nigel Adkins is also thought to be monitoring the former Ipswich man's situation at the Den given that he signed him for Scunthorpe in the past.
The Lions will not want to let Trotter leave without a fight but it is thought a £2million bid could be enough to prise him away from the London club in the New Year.
