Cottagers step up transfer search

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson says he is delighted with his signings so far but wants to add even more quality to his ranks.

Hodgson has already snapped up Zoltan Gera and Mark Schwarzer on free transfers this summer but the activity will not stop there as he looks to strengthen further.

Everton striker Andy Johnson has been linked but Hodgson would have to splash out in the region of £12million to land the player.

"The signings in terms of transfer fees have not been costly," Hodgson told Sky Sports News. "But I would suggest that Mark Schwarzer and Zoltan Gera are two very good quality players and we, at Fulham, have been able to persuade them that their futures lie here.

"We have other transfer targets on the market. It has been quiet, but that doesn't mean that clubs out there don't have targets and are not working behind the scenes.

"We, like others, are working behind the scenes to try and bring in the players we have identified."
