Fulham are reportedly set to try and hijack Sunderland's £5million bid to sign Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone.
Cottagers boss Martin Jol tried to sign the 26-year-old England international in the January transfer window but a loan deal fell through at the time.
A renewed bid to sign Huddlestone this summer was mooted shortly before the end of last season, but then Sunderland appeared to be leading the chase for his signature.
It was being reported that Black Cats boss Paolo Di Canio had virtually tied up a deal at the end of last week with a fee agreed.
But with Huddlestone seemingly unable to agree personal terms with the Wearsiders, it has let in Fulham who could try and finally pounce.
A move to Craven Cottage would allow Huddlestone to be reunited with his former Spurs boss Jol and he would also be able to stay in London as opposed to making the long move to the North East if he joined Sunderland.
