Duff's call to Cottagers

Damien Duff has called on his Fulham team-mates to produce another strong finish to this season's Premier League.

The former Republic of Ireland international, who will be 34 at the start of March, has been disappointed with the way the Cottagers' bright start to the campaign has faltered. They are now looking over their shoulder because of some disastrous mid-season form, which has included a run of just one win in 13 games.

The situation has eased somewhat for Martin Jol's men in recent weeks as they have now won two and drawn two in their last six to move six points clear of the relegation places.

But, with 11 points required to reach the magic 40 points barrier which should bring safety for another season, Duff wants the players to emulate previous seasons by going on a strong run in the final 12 games of this campaign to get as high up the table as possible.

"We got off to a great start but then had that mid-season where we struggled to pick up points, which was very disappointing," he told the club's official website. "Over the past couple of years we've usually started slow and finished strong.

"There are 12 games left, I think, so we'll be looking to put in a similar finish to what we've done in previous seasons. It has been disappointing but we're looking to put it right."
