Fulham target Junior Malanda has undergone a medical at Wolfsburg and will sign a four-year deal before being loaned back to Belgium.
Wolfsburg have confirmed that the Belgian Under-21 international, 18, was in Germany on Tuesday night to finalise the transfer that will see him loaned back to his former club Zulte-Waregem for a minimum of six months.
Fulham were keen on a deal for the midfielder and were reportedly in talks with his agent until apparently going cold on the move when they discovered that he had left Zulte under a cloud.
Having been told that Malanda was available on a free transfer, it appears that Fulham were concerned by the manner in which he released himself from his contract and that allowed Wolfsburg to step in.
"We have long observed the player," said Wolfsburg general manager Mike Schussler.
"He is an interesting option for the future."
