Fulham are one of six clubs keeping tabs on prolific non-league marksman Damien Reeves at Altrincham.
Fulham had a scout at Altrincham's match against Oxford City at the weekend as Reeves scored a brace of penalties for the Blue Square Bet North club.
The 26-year-old scored four against Gansborough the week before and has bagged eight in his last three matches to prove that his extraordinary goal return from last term was no fluke.
Reeves finished last season as the highest scorer in English football and his 43 goals ? more than half Altrincham's total ? all came in the league.
The former Leeds United trainee had a spell at Barnsley before disappearing into non-league football and learning his trade as a plasterer, but a determination to play professionally never left him.
"I try to play in a similar way to Robbie Fowler," he told the Daily Mail last season.
"I idolised him. He knew how to score goals. That was his type of game and that's my game. It's just instinctive. You've either got it or you haven't. You can improve on it but it has to be there in the first place."
