Gera dismisses Cottagers drop fears

FulhamZoltan Gera is confident that Fulham will not be embroiled in a relegation battle this season, while he now feels settled at the club.

The Hungarian midfielder, who joined in the summer from West Bromwich Albion, was on target in Fulham's 2-1 win against Bolton at the weekend and is delighted that he is now starting to feel a part of Roy Hodgson's team.

Gera has also seen enough quality at Craven Cottage to claim the side will not be troubled by the threat of relegation to the Championship like last season.

"We played a great game," he told Hungarian newspaper Blikk.

"We could have won by three goals and I could have scored three alone. I hit the post and was off target, but it was my first really good game for my new club.

"So far I've not been satisfied with my performances but at last against Bolton I played well and my team-mates praised me in the dressing room."

On the club's fortunes, he added: "It's early to talk about it but I think it would be annoying if we were fighting against relegation at the end of the season.

"It seems that Fulham have made some good signings and built a very stylish team. If we finished in the top half of the table then I would be satisfied."
