West Ham are set to hold off late interest from Fulham to win the race for Vitesse Arnhem striker Wilfried Bony.
The Hammers are expected to make a major offer in the summer for the Ivory Coast international but some reports claim the Dutch side are looking for as much as £15m for the player, who himself is after a wage of £55,000 a week.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce knows he needs to strengthen his attack over the summer as he is almost certain to lose Andy Carroll from an already-thin front line and he is said to be ready to break the club's transfer record to land the 24-year-old.
Bony is the leading scorer in the Eredivisie, with 26 goals in 24 games this season, and has made no secret of his desire to play in England.
Cottagers boss Martin Jol has been linked with a possible bid to hijack a deal for the player but it seems he has come in too late.
