Brede Hangeland's agent has insisted the Fulham defender is happy at the club and could pen a new contract soon.

There has been plenty of speculation over the Norway international's future at Craven Cottage as his current deal expires at the end of the season.

So far no new terms have been offered and it was thought the 31-year-old could be heading out of the club in the summer but now his agent,

Rune Hauge, has said a new deal could actually be forthcoming.

He told reporters in Norway: "Things can happen in a month or three months. Brede is happy in Fulham, and the club is happy with him."

Hangeland has gone on to establish himself as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League since he joined the London club in 2008 from Danish side FC Copenhagen and there would be considerable interest in him if Fulham decided he could go at the end of the season.
