Hodgson eyes Czech ace

FulhamFulham boss Roy Hodgson is being strongly linked with Czech Republic striker Vaclav Sverkos who is rated in the £5m bracket.

The Cottagers chief needs to replace captain Brian McBride after he returned to the USA and Sverkos, who has been in action for his country this month at Euro 2008, is reportedly in his sights.

Sverkos, 24, is currently playing for Banik Ostrrava in his homeland for the second time following a stint in Germany where he turned out for Borussia Mönchengladbach and Hertha Berlin.

Sverkos has made three appearances for the Czech Republic since making his debut last month.
