Roy Hodgson said that he was happy to pick up a point following Fulham's 1-1 draw at Wigan, while he hailed Mark Schwarer's display.
The Cottagers boss watched as Clint Dempsey's first half penalty cancelled out Emmerson Boyce's early opener for Latics at the DW Stadium. And, after keeper Schwarzer produced some fine saves throughout the remainder of the match, Hodgson was pleased with a draw.
He said: "I was very pleased with the point, especially after the excitement and pressure of the Liverpool game and the grave disappointment in Rome in midweek.
"Wigan are a very good team and the players showed a lot of character and determination so I have to be really happy with a point.
"It was more a 3-3 game than a 1-1 and Mark Schwarzer had to bring off some spectacular saves from their long-range shooting."
