Hodgson sets Cottagers target

FulhamRoy Hodgson insists Fulham's main target remains Premier League safety this season, despite their good start to the season.

The Cottagers have six points from their opening three league games, including a home win over Arsenal, but the boss has played down talk of challenging towards the top end of the league.

After the last-gasp survival of last season, Hodgson is refusing to get carried away and is adamant that staying in the top flight is the only target he has set to date.

The manager stated: "We wont get carried away, first of all we need 40 points then we raise the bar. But first of all we need to survive."

The next test for the Cottagers comes on on Saturday, when they make the trip to Ewood Park to face Blackburn - Rovers are currently third from bottom with four points from four matches.
