Johnson exit nearer after

FulhamEverton look set to cash in on Andy Johnson after he was left out of their team at Preston - fuelling talk of a £10m Fulham switch.

The England striker was at the ground but left before kick-off as he was not in the squad which beat Preston by a single goal and he could now complete a move away from Goodison Park.

Despite continued interest from both Sunderland and Wigan, it is looking increasingly likely that the 27-year-old will end up back in the capital with Fulham.

One possible stumbling block is that Everton do not want to sell players without already having a replacement in mind and as yet that does not appear to be the case, but Johnson is still expected to move on shortly.
