Jol eyes Ajax star swoop

Martin Jol is reportedly looking to raid his former club Ajax to take South African midfielder Thulani Serero to Fulham in January.

The under-fire Cottagers boss is desperately looking for reinforcements in the New Year as his side currently occupy the final spot in the Premier League relegation zone, with 10 points from their opening 12 games.

And reports claim Jol will return to his homeland to try and snap up Serero from Dutch giants Ajax after the player has struggled for regular first-team action at the Amsterdan Arena.

The attack-minded midfielder has scored three goals in 12 appearances this season and could be available for around £5million.
