Fulham boss Martin Jol has revealed he is glad to have Simon Davies back in training with the first team after an extended period out.

The 33-year-old has been hounded by injuries for the last two seasons, restricting him to very few first-team outings for the Premier League side.

The Wales international has made seven appearances in two seasons for the Cottagers, picking up further injuries every time he attempts to get back into a regular routine.

The Dutch boss has welcomed the former Tottenham man back into the fold this week and he could be involved for the Stoke game this weekend, but failing that he is expected to have some involvement the week after when they take on Sunderland.

"I can't remember him playing it was so long ago," the Dutchman said.

"Its very pleasing that he's back because I wanted to involve him.

"He's been injured all the time, he came back, played in the reserves and got injured again."
