Fulham boss Martin Jol has indicated he is ready to hand Mahamadou Diarra a new deal as the midfielder continues his recovery.
The former Real Madrid and Monaco enforcer suffered a serious knee injury in December and has not featured since.
Diarra fell out of contract at the end of last season but has remained with Fulham over the summer whilst recovering from the injury blow.
Jol has previously indicated the 32-year-old could be handed a new deal and the Dutchman has now revealed Diarra is closing in on a return to full training, while suggesting he could be set to offer the Mali international a new deal at Craven Cottage.
"Diarra is coming back, he's probably at 50 per cent," Jol told the Daily Mail.
"He's not really fit but if there's no contact like in possession games, then he can join us in training. He's not quite there where we want him to be yet."
