Jol rules out striker swoop

Last Updated: Mon, 28 Oct 2013 13:19

Fulham boss Martin Jol has ruled out the possibility of former Cottagers ace Clint Dempsey returning to Craven Cottage.

The American ace became a hero with the Fulham fans after firing home 60 goals during a five-year spell at the club before he was sold to Premier League rivals Tottenham.

Dempsey failed to make an impact at White Hart Lane and returned to the USA with Major League Soccer outfit Seattle Sounders just 12 months after the move.

There have been suggestions that Jol was lining up a move to bring him back to Fulham in January, something which has been dismissed by the Dutchman.

"It's unbelievable speculation, which is nice. I never talk about players, especially when they are not here," Jol revealed.
