Fulham have swooped to sign PSV Eindhoven's Bulgaria international Stanislav Manolev on loan until the summer with a view to a deal.

The 29-year-old right-back, who has 29 caps for his country, has made 76 appearances for Dutch side PSV since joining in 2009 from Litex Lovech and helped the side win the KNVB Cup during his time in the Netherlands.

Manolev is delighted with move and is adamant that he will be looking to force his way into Martin Jol's first team at Craven Cottage as he looks to earn a full-time move.

If he is a success there is the possibility of Manolev penning a deal to stay at Fulham until summer 2015.

"I came here to play but I know that I have to fight for my place," Stanislav told fulhamfc.com after signing. "I am looking forward to playing the Premier League because I believe it is the best competition in the world.

"I know Martin Jol already because when I came to Holland, we played against Ajax when he was the coach. I hope that if I play well here then I will be able to stay beyond the summer."
