Kamara return hopes for Cottagers

Fulham striker Diomansy Kamara remains on course to return to contention in March after knee ligament damage suffered last summer.

The 28-year-old has missed the entire season to date but should be available to play some part in the run-in despite a slight setback when he needed a minor operation to remove scar tissue.

Fulham's head of sports medicine and exercise science told the club's website: "He's back on schedule with regards his rehab. We had a month where we plateaued and he didn't improve or increase his football activities.

"We reviewed the situation with the surgeon in Paris, who did a minor operation to remove some scar tissue. That's been removed and we've now been able to progress. It's probably taken four to six weeks out of his schedule, which means that we've had to put his start date back a little.

"He is on schedule, at the moment, to be playing games in February. Obviously they'll be practise and reserve games. When he gets to that point we'll then be in a situation to predict when he'll be back in first-team action. He's working very hard and he's back on schedule, if we take the month he missed out."
