Fulham are being linked with a loan bid for Newcastle winger Jonas Gutierrez but face competition from Porto.
The Argentina international is set to move on following the Magpies' relegation from the Premier League and reports claim Roy Hodgson wants a season-long loan with a view to a permanent signing next summer.
However, it is claimed on Tyneside that Portuguese side Porto are also keen on the former Real Mallorca star who failed to score last season.
Porto already have six Argentines on their books plus a strong South American contingent in general.
Newcastle stand no chance of keeping the player given his wages and the fact next season is a World Cup year.
