Fulham have confirmed captain Brian McBride has decided to leave the club and return to America.McBride's final season at the club looked likely to be ruined by injury, only for the forward to return to play a crucial role in Fulham's remarkable escape from relegation.
The former USA international forward told the club's official website: "After much consideration with my family, we have decided to leave Fulham after four and a half fantastic years.
"I have always stated my intention to return to America at some stage and this seems like the right moment in my career to move on."
