Meulensteen aims to build on United draw

Rene Meulensteen says Fulham's 2-2 draw at Manchester United can be "the start of a resurrection" as they look to avoid relegation.

The Cottagers remain bottom of the Premier League, four points from safety with 13 games left to go ahead of another tough test at home to in-form Liverpool on Wednesday.

Meulensteen says they now must approach every game like the way they did the one at Old Trafford and use the 2-2 draw as the platform to build a successful survival bid in the second half of the season.

He said: "We've been struggling as you know. That's the start of a resurrection. We've got a 14 game league. That was the first game.

"A big tough away game. We defended really well, we need to be more positive when we have the ball. We've had that but not defended as well."
