Midfielder in Cottagers talks

FulhamSunderland midfielder Dickson Etuhu is in talks with Fulham and is expected to complete a move before the weekend.

The Nigerian international has been considering his future after a year at the Stadium of Light, but has decided to join the Cottagers after speaking to Roy Hodgson.

Roy Keane had told Etuhu that he would like him to stay on Wearside, but a move to the capital appealed to the former Manchester City and Norwich man.

Speaking to Setanta, the 26-year-old revealed: "I heard a few clubs were interested but Sunderland didn't want to sell.

"It was the hardest decision of my career. I had a chat with Roy Keane and he didn't want me to go and tried to convince me to stay.

"I also met Roy Hodgson and spoke to Roy, met Fulham and the team and decided I liked it already."

Etuhu added: "I've been out for six months and want to move on and play and be closer to my family in London.

"I want to thank Roy Keane for giving me a chance to play in The Premier League, it's been a dream come true for me."
