Paris Saint Germain are being linked with Fulham's Clint Dempsey, as Mark Hughes has stepped up his interest in Pablo Daniel Osvaldo.
French Ligue 1 outfit PSG are scouring the market for a new attacking player and 28-year-old American international, Dempsey, has been mooted as a potential target following his impressive campaign at Craven Cottage.
Dempsey has scored 12 goals so far and became the first US player to score more than 10 Premier League goals in one season, while he has also broken Fulham's Premier League goalscoring record with 33 to his name.
As a result, Dempsey has attracted the interest of the Paris giants, who would have to make a sizeable offer for his signature as Hughes would be loathe to lose such a key player, who is contracted to the Cottagers until summer 2013.
Meanwhile, Hughes stepped up his own summer transfer mission by checking out £12million-rated Argentina-born Italian striker, Osvaldo, in action for Espanyol against Barcelona at the weekend.
Manchester United, Spurs and Everton have been linked to the player, but it seems Hughes is serious about making a bid for his services.
Only last week he said: "The boy Osvaldo's been flagged up for a long time and I think everybody's aware of him - he's a good player.
"But you wouldn't expect me to say too much about him because he's somebody else's player."
