Roy swoops for striker

FulhamDavid Healy looks set to end his unhappy spell at Fulham with Sunderland the favourites to land him this week.

The Northern Ireland striker is set to be re-united with his former Old Trafford team-mate Keane - who needs more strength in depth up front after he confirmed teenager Martyn Waghorn has been ruled out for 10 weeks with a knee injury.

Healy has been frozen out by Craven Cottage boss Roy Hodgson and has intimated he would be interested in trying his luck elsewhere before the transfer window shuts on September 1.

He said: "I'm not angling for a move but if the opportunity arose before the (transfer) deadline and if something were to happen and Fulham give me the green light, then who knows?"
