Ruiz set for PSV loan

Last Updated: Tue, 14 Jan 2014 11:06

Fulham striker Bryan Ruiz is poised to join Eredivisie giants PSV Eindhoven on loan after completing a medical with the club.

The Costa Rica forward underwent a medical on Monday, according to his agent, and he is now expected to complete the move after being told by Cottagers boss Rene Meulensteen he could move on if he found the right club this month.

Ex-Fulham boss Martin Jol made Ruiz his biggest signing in 2011, recruiting the 28-year-old for a reported £10.6million fee, but the 61-cap international has struggled to impose himself at Craven Cottage and is now set for a swift exit, provided an agreement between the two clubs can be sorted out in the next few days.

"He did have a medical at the club on Monday and I can say that everything went well," his agent Rene Vijt said.

"Now it is up to the two clubs before anything else can happen."

It is thought all that needs working out is who will pay Ruiz's considerable wages when he leaves on loan but all parties are keen to sort the deal so it is expected to go through this week and he will team up with PSV for the remainder of the season.
