Seol happy with forward role

FulhamSeol Ki-hyeon is not worried about playing as a striker for Fulham as he is just happy to be part of Roy Hodgson's starting XI.

The South Korean international barely figured under Hodgson last season, but was pitched in from the start alongside summer signing Bobby Zamora in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Hull City. Seol did not disappoint with a headed goal to put the Cottagers in front in their Premier League curtain-raiser and he would like to continue being part of the first-team, despite big money new boy Andrew Johnson waiting in the wings once he is fit.

"Since I came here I've played as a winger, but I will do what the manager wants me to do," Seol told the club's official website.

"I played most of my career as a winger, but I have played as a striker before.

"I want to play and I want to be part of the team, so it doesn't matter where I play. The manager said I have something he likes as a striker, so I have to keep showing him why I should be picked.

"I will keep trying and when I get the chances, I will try to score some goals.

"I haven't set any specific targets for this season, but my aim is just to play as much as possible.

"We struggled to stay up last season and I didn't do anything for the team, so that was very disappointing for me. So my aim is to do my best and try to have more influence on the pitch."
