Starlet keeps Cottagers grounded

Last Updated: Tue, 18 Mar 2014 16:50

Cauley Woodrow has called on his "buzzing" Fulham team-mates not "to get too carried away" by their 1-0 win against Newcastle.

The 19-year-old England youth international striker was recently pitched into the Cottagers' battle for Premier League survival and he has made a big impact on the side.

And after they secured a first league win since New Year's Day against Newcastle on Saturday, Woodrow claims the squad has been full of confidence and belief.

However, with Felix Magath's side still four points from safety and facing a difficult trip to title-chasing Manchester City at the weekend, Woodrow is urging the players to stay focused on the job in hand.

"The boys are buzzing," he told the club's official website. "It was a great result but we don't want to get too carried away so hopefully we can push on and try and get some more results.

"We don't go into any game thinking we're going to lose. We've got some good games coming up at home so if we play like we did on Saturday I don't see why we can't stay up."
