Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has hit back at claims by Angel Rangel that he has held back his career by blocking a Fulham move.

The defender claims a deal with Fulham had been agreed but did not go through because Jenkins was uncontactable throughout Monday but Jenkins denies this and has moved to put the record straight.

"I was disappointed to read so many inaccuracies in the quotes from Angel," Jenkins told Wales online.

"In response to the story, I would like to clarify certain points.

"At no time did Fulham offer any financial deal for our player apart from a loan option with the 'possibility' of a permanent deal at the end of it.

"I am certainly not prepared to let a regular and quality Championship player with 18 months left on his contract leave the club for virtually nothing."
