Fulham, Portsmouth and Middlesbrough have all been credited with an interest in USA international defender Oguchi Onyewu.
The 26-year-old centre-half currently plays for Belgian champions Standard Liege but has Premier League experience from a loan spell at Newcastle in 2007.
However, former Magpies boss Sam Allardyce decided against keeping him on and he returned to Liege.
Onyewu, who has the nickname 'Gooch', started the USA's 2-0 defeat to England at Wembley on Wednesday night.
